DESCRIPTION

Sodium Metabisulphite Powder is used as a disinfectant, antioxidant, and preservative agent. It is used to de-chlorinate ballast waters prior to discharge to the environment.

USE AND DOSING

De-chlorination: Instructions are based on experience and are meant only as a guide since circumstances for each de-chlorination process vary. They are not intended to interfere with the judgment of the vessel’s responsible personnel.

Prepare a 40% solution in water and administer it at a rate of 3.7 ml per cubic meter of solution for every 1 ppm of free chlorine in the water being treated. Use New Age Chemicals Free Chlorine Test Kit to track the decrease in free chlorine levels. For ongoing applications, ensure the use of a suitable storage tank and a chemical dosing pump.
