DESCRIPTION
Sodium Thiosulfate Liquid 30% is a liquid product containing thiosulfate, designed for use in ballast water treatment systems to neutralize Total Residual Oxidant (TRO) or Total Chlorine. It’s equivalent to Sodium Thiosulfate Pentahydrate 50% Solution.
APPLICATION
Sodium Thiosulfate Liquid 30% liquid is used to dechlorinate ballast waters before discharging them into the environment. This process helps to protect marine ecosystems from harmful chemical contamination.
USE AND DOSING
Instructions are based on experience and are meant only as a guide since circumstances for each dechlorination process vary. They are not intended to interfere with the judgment of the vessel’s responsible personnel.
To dechlorinate the water, dose Sodium Thiosulfate Liquid 30% at a rate of 12.0 milliliters per m3 for each 1 ppm of free chlorine present in the water to be treated. Use New Age Chemicals Free Chlorine Test Kit to monitor the reduction in free chlorine levels. For continuous dechlorination applications, a suitable storage tank and chemical dosing pump should be installed.
